Good morning everyone and welcome to today's UK weather forecast on Sunday 26th June 2022 Current Situation: An unusually deep area of low pressure is sitting to the west of Ireland bringing strong, blustery winds and showery rain. Today: Sunday is off to a windy and showery start in the west but the rest of the country is mostly dry. Through the rest of the day we'll see more heavy showery rain across Scotland, Northern Ireland, north west England and north Wales with plenty of showers for south Wales and south west England. Many central, southern and eastern regions will stay dry with bright or sunny spells. It will be a windy day especially in the west with gusts around Irish sea coasts reaching 50-60mph. Temperatures will range from 17C to 22C. Tonight: Showers will spread southeastwards, some of them heavy and thundery across Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England, Wales and south west England. Further south and east many places will stay dry with clear spells and variable cloud. Winds will gradually ease in the north and west. Temperatures will range from 8C to 13C. Tomorrow: Showers will push eastwards and become confined to eastern England during the afternoon. Central and western regions will stay dry with bright or sunny spells before more cloud and rain arrives across Northern Ireland by evening. Temperatures 15C to 21C. Outlook:. Tuesday: Turning wet in the north and west but the south and east remains dry. Wednesday: Showers could become widespread, heavy and thundery. Warm. Thursday: More heavy and thundery showers.
